A Little About Our Story

Whispering Seed is a registered non-profit, 501 C3 working in Myanmar (Burma) and Thailand.

For the last 10 years we ran a Home for Children and Community Living & Learning Centre on our 12 acre farm located in Sangklaburi, Thailand along the Thai-Burmese border.

In January of 2013 we made our official move to start our life and work inside Myanmar. Currently the majority of our work is in Myanmar. We are now situated in  a small former British hill-station located in Northern Burma just inside Shan State in the town of Pyin Oo Lwin (or Maymyo) as it was formerly known.

We are involved in the early stages of several new projects of Whispering Seed and working collaboratively with other organizations to support the training and development of Buddhist Monastic Schools in Myanmar.

The Whispering Seed is a village based Home for Children and a Community Living and Learning Centre working in Myanmar and Thailand since 2004. We are a US registered 501 C3, tax-exempt charitable organization striving to bridge the traditions of sustainability and holistic education through innovative programs, trainings and design by drawing on the richness of local wisdom and traditional cultures along with renewed appropriate models.

With a pioneering spirit, Whispering Seed strives to support collaborate with local groups within Myanmar and elsewhere in South and Southeast Asia, as well as with the international community. Fusing the old and the new, we are searching for creative solutions to the variety of challenges which Myanmar will face throughout the next critical years of development.

WS is focused on five critical areas of development. With a holistic and integrated approach we aim to support the growth and development of a new society which is representative of the rich diversity of peoples and cultures of Myanmar.

Pioneering Sustainability
Mindfulness, Health & Well-being
Women’s Vocational Skills Training

Currently we are ready to start taking volunteers in Myanmar. Because most of our work is now on getting the project established inside Myanmar, we are unable to take requests for volunteers in Thailand.
